Unmask

Unmask is a puzzle game. Players solve patterns that help cancer researchers. Each puzzle provides real research data. The challenge becomes a literal game. Players join citizen science while having fun.

Researchers study lymphoma. They look for binding places of microRNA to messenger RNA. Computers cannot find all binding places. People are better puzzle-solvers. They see patterns and think creatively. Unmask motivates them to play and contribute.

More than 7,700 people have played Unmask. They sent over 30,000 research submissions. Each game takes about 8 minutes.
